MADE IN TAIWAN takes the shoe as a metaphor for (the Taiwanese) identity, a vessel necessary if not obligatory. In the long-term project overlapping real life, the artist carves into all her shoe soles and leaves accidental footprints in everyday travels to evoke linguistic and geopolitical imaginations.
